Job summary

Liberty Puerto Rico is seeking an in-house Counsel to lead all aspects of litigation, arbitration, and discovery for Liberty in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. You will manage strategy, respond to discovery, coordinate with outside counsel, and ensure compliant production of information.

Responsibilities include advising on labor and employment matters, notary duties, and handling subpoenas and government inquiries.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor is required.
• Five to Six years of experience in the legal field.
• Corporate, regulatory and/or in-house legal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of litigation, arbitration, and other legal disputes, including developing litigation strategy and coordinating responses to discovery requests.
• Represent Liberty in legal proceedings in Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands.
• Provide advice on labor and employment matters.
• Prepare legal risk assessments on pivotal initiatives.
• Manage outside attorneys and insurance companies for strategic and economic resolution of litigation matters.
• Handle subpoenas, government inquiries and court orders.
• Appear before court or administrative forums on behalf of the company.
• Ensure compliance with industry rules and Liberty policies.
• Support notary duties and attest signatures where required.
