Job summary

Assignment Desk seeks an in-house litigator to own day-to-day civil litigation matters, working alongside seasoned outside trial counsel. This high-ownership role offers a remote-friendly setup, with options to work from Mt. Pleasant, SC headquarters or from home via video/remote.

Key duties include managing subpoenas and discovery, drafting pleadings and briefs, and coordinating depositions while maintaining deadlines and coordinating with outside counsel.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of civil litigation experience.
• Hands-on experience with subpoenas, affidavits, and written discovery.

Responsibilities

• Draft, issue, and serve subpoenas; prepare affidavits and declarations.
• Own the full discovery cycle: interrogatories, requests for production and admission, document production, privilege logs, and discovery motions.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for review by senior counsel.
• Prepare for and take or defend depositions where appropriate.
• Appear in court on procedural and discovery matters; coordinate outside counsel; keep a master deadline calendar.

• - Admission to the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.
• - Commercial or complex civil litigation experience; deposition experience.
