Job summary

New England Mechanical Services is seeking a Lead Operations/Maintenance Technician for a large customer in the Marlborough, MA area. The role is on-site, first shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., coordinating preventive maintenance and supporting onsite service technicians.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of HVAC experience, can work independently, and take ownership of client needs. A company vehicle, HVAC equipment, gas card, cell phone, uniforms, and PPE are provided.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License is required.
• EPA 608 Universal certification is required.
• Commercial HVAC systems experience and knowledge is required.
• A clean driving record is required.
• BMS or Automation experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, pumps, and refrigeration equipment.
• Schedule service calls and plan maintenance with customers to ensure safety and timeliness.
• Work with onsite technicians and ensure proper PPE and safety procedures are followed.
• Interact professionally with clients and maintain a neat appearance.
• Possible overtime and weekend coverage as required.

Job Summary

New England Mechanical Services is currently seeking an experienced Lead Operations/Maintenance Technician for a large, sophisticated customer in the Marlborough, MA area.

This position is on-site, first shift Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate and provide various types of support for the onsite service technicians and assure that service calls and preventative maintenance are organized and performed safely and on time by scheduling with the customer.

This position is suited to a well-rounded HVAC technician (5+ years preferred) who can operate independently, think on their feet, and take ownership of our client’s needs.

A company vehicle, HVAC equipment, gas card, cell phone, uniforms, and all PPE is provided.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include but not limited to the following.

Coordinating preventive maintenance on all equipment, including and not limited to heating and ventilating, pumps, fans, sterilizers, cage washers, boilers, chillers and refrigeration equipment.

Keep trade licenses and certifications current. Follow and comply with the rules and regulations of section 608 of the clean air act and occupational safety regulations mandated by federal, state and local governments.

Attend all safety training provided and/or sponsored by NEMSI.

Follow all NEMSI safety policies, procedures, and use personal protective equipment when performing installation and/or servicing HVAC systems.

Interact with the client in a professional and courteous manner while maintaining a clean and neat appearance.

Flexible to work overtime and weekends as demand requires.

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License.
• EPA 608 Universal required.
• Commercial HVAC systems experience and knowledge
• Must have a clean driving record
• BMS or Automation experience is a plus but not required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, smell and lift, set-up and climb ladders as well as stairways. The employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move various weight ranges such as 0-50 lbs. frequently, 51-100 lbs. occasionally and 101 plus seldom. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Maintain a neat and clean appearance and utilize all protective equipment provided and as required.

Geographic Disclosure

Salary range $40.85-$50.00 per hour plus benefits.

Overtime is available.
