Job summary

Vierra Falls Church, a Vierra Communities property, is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our in-house team in Falls Church, VA. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on providing compassionate geriatric care on a bright, open-concept therapy floor designed for patient recovery and staff collaboration.

The successful candidate will conduct screenings, develop and implement treatment plans, and coordinate with families and other professionals to enhance residents' independence.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the state.
• Successful completion of the National Certification Examination for Physical Therapist.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care preferred.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and compassion for elderly patients.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Optimize patients' physical abilities by evaluating and treating or supervising staff.
• Conduct screenings to determine need for intervention/treatment.
• Establish individual patient schedules with the team.
• Develop treatment plans with goals and methods to achieve them.
• Coordinate treatment plans with patient, family and team members.
• Implement and conduct treatment as outlined in the plan.
• Monitor patient response and adjust treatment as needed to meet goals.
• Create home or community programs to maintain improvements.
• Document assessments, treatments, progress, and termination of services.
• Provide or train on adaptive devices, orthotics or prosthetics as appropriate.
