Visiting Angels in Lufkin, Texas is seeking an In Home Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support clients across Deep East Texas.

As a PCA, you will help with personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and companionship, with opportunities for additional training in dementia or Alzheimer's care. We offer flexible schedules, competitive pay of $11–$13 per hour, and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, car insurance, and reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid and emergency response training (provided if needed).
• Excellent time-management and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to homes as scheduled.
• Willing to assist with housekeeping and cooking while following safety standards.
• Willing to comply with state and office health and safety standards (e.g., background check).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.

As a Visiting Angels In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene


• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks


• Planning and preparing meals with clients


• Handling light housekeeping duties


• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents


• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship


• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies


• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips


• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately


• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

In Home Patient Care Assistant - PCA Job Requirements:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent


• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must


• Training in First Aid and emergency response is required (provided if needed)


• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once


• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care


• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
