Job summary

Best Buy is seeking an In-Home Installation Technician to deliver, install, integrate, and troubleshoot home tech products such as home theater, computing, smart home, and networking solutions in customers’ homes.

You will advise customers, fulfill on lifestyle recommendations, and coordinate with Geek Squad Agents and partners to meet Best Buy’s service objectives and yearly initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have current, valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record meeting Best Buy safety standards.
• Ability to acquire and maintain any required state or local licensing within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds solo and up to 150 pounds as part of a two-person team.
• Ability to lift up to 250 pounds with assistive tools when needed.
• 6 months of consumer electronics delivery, installation, integration and troubleshooting experience.
• 6 months of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Job description

As an In-Home Installation Technician, you’ll be responsible for the delivery, installation, integration, and troubleshooting tech products such as home theater, computing, smart home and networking. Outside of delivery and installation, you’ll find the right solutions for customers’ lifestyles and technology needs based on your conversations. You’ll partner with other Geek Squad Agents, service partners, retail employees and supply chain employees to drive performance to meet Best Buy’s strategy and yearly initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Provide a seamless customer experience by advising and fulfilling on lifestyle recommendations regarding products and services
• Provide a variety of fulfillment duties including delivery, installation, integration, networking and troubleshooting consumer electronics devices
• Take the lead on two-person jobs and perform other work alone
• Manage inventory and vehicle maintenance, process paperwork and payment, provide feedback and training opportunities, and follow safety guidelines

Basic Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have current, valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record which meets Best Buy safety standards
• Ability to acquire and maintain any state or local licensing, as required to perform job effectively within 90 days of hire
• Ability to lift weight up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation and up to 150 pounds as part of a team with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to lift weight up to 250 pounds as part of a team with the support tools such as harnesses or lifts
• 6 months of consumer electronics delivery, installation, integration and troubleshooting experience
• 6 months of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in installation, integration and troubleshooting of advanced or complex consumer electronics products
