Job summary

BakerRipley in Houston seeks a qualified Education Services Specialist to provide in-home and other services to families in Head Start programs, building partnerships and supporting families to achieve goals.

You will maintain caseloads, document timely, conduct home visits, recruit families, coordinate integrated services, and promote parent involvement in education. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years in social services, with bilingual ability a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, sociology or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a social service setting with children and/or families.
• Demonstrated teaching or training skills and crisis handling ability.
• Excellent oral and written communication; work with diverse communities.
• Proficiency with local community resources; bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a full caseload and timely follow up based on individualized plans.
• Track delivery of Head Start services using the agency system.
• Maintain accurate documentation meeting deadlines and standards.
• Develop strengths-based family assessments describing goals and needs.
• Conduct home visits and timely referrals; revise plans as needed.
• Maintain a Parent Involvement Calendar and support governance activities.
• Coordinate integrated services across departments for families.
• Promote parent involvement in child education.
