Job summary

Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community, located on James Island, SC, seeks CNA team members to provide in-home support promoting independence and mobility for the elderly. Flexible schedule and compassionate care are emphasized.

Qualified candidates will have a CNA with active SC registry, at least 1 year in long-term care, and the ability to travel throughout Charleston County. This role includes benefits such as insurance, PTO, and wellness programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• At least 1 year experience with long-term care for the elderly required, home care is ideal.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be a Certified Nurse's Aide listed on the South Carolina Nurse Aide Registry with an active certification and be in good standing.
• Able to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.
• Willingness to travel to clients throughout Charleston County.
• Has reliable transportation to and from James Island.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care for clients, including bathing, showering, shampooing, oral hygiene, skin care, hair care, nail care, dressing, and shaving as needed.
• Assist clients with nutritional needs including serving, feeding, and providing proper fluid requirements.
• Assist with proper restorative care including range-of-motion exercises, proper positioning, and ambulation.
• Encourage client independence and optimal level of functioning.
• Exercise standard precautions of infection control in all client care.
• Exchange client information with supervisor via communications binder.
• Launder clients’ personal items as needed.
• Maintain a pleasant, respectful, and courteous demeanor.
