Job summary

Visiting Angels Abilene is seeking an In Home Caregiver - Housekeeper to support seniors in the Big Country region, including Albany and nearby towns. You will assist with light housekeeping, meal prep, mobility support, transportation, and companionship, while learning through optional advanced training in dementia or Alzheimer’s care.

Part-time and longer shifts are available, with weekly pay and benefits such as health, dental and vision insurance, PPE, holiday pay, referrals, direct deposit,

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others and be a true caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility around the house or during outings.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Help with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Shop for groceries or accompany clients shopping.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.

In Home Caregiver - Housekeeper Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
