Job summary

Senior Helpers Richmond is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home support for seniors. You will offer companionship, assist with daily activities, prepare meals, manage medications, and help with light housekeeping and transportation. The role requires a valid driver's license and a willingness to work in homes with pets.

Starting pay is $17 per hour with mileage reimbursement. We value customer service, community impact, and flexible scheduling within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of CNA/NA/PCA experience preferred
• Willing to accept new PCAs/CNAs and provide in-home care training
• A valid driver's license, reliable transportation required - may need to drive clients in own vehicle. Will be reimbursed for mileage
• Must be willing to work in homes with pets. Cats and/or dogs
• You are passionate about helping others

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening. Testing includes, but is not limited to, amphetamines, methamphetamines, cocaine, opiates (including morphine), and benzodiazepines. Applicants with valid prescriptions may disclose them to the testing provider.

Responsibilities

• Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations and provide emotional support to seniors.
• Assistance with Daily Activities: Help with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Medication Management: Assist clients with medication reminders and ensure they adhere to prescribed medication schedules.
• Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals based on dietary requirements and preferences.
• Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for the senior.
• Transportation: Assist with transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other essential outings.
• Monitoring Health: Observe and report any changes in the senior's health or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of care provided and any significant changes in the client's condition.
