Job summary

A First Name Basis is seeking compassionate caregivers to provide in-home support to seniors and individuals with disabilities across Mississippi and neighboring states. This role offers flexible schedules—full-time, part-time, or PRN—and requires performing personal care, companionship, light housekeeping, meal prep, and transportation assistance.

You will follow care plans, document care provided, and ensure client safety in private homes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid ID, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to client homes.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings: background check and drug screen.
• Willingness to complete competency and skills assessments.
• Ability to work independently in home settings.
• Willingness to complete onboarding requirements.
• Kind, compassionate attitude, with patience and professionalism with vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care support including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Assist with light housekeeping and meal preparation; assist with feeding as needed.
• Provide medication reminders and accompany clients to appointments.
• Monitor health status and report changes to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, safe home environment for clients.
• Ensure proper use of safety equipment.
• Document care provided according to company and regulatory standards.
• Travel to client homes and attend assigned visits.
• Complete required in-service training upon hire and annually.
• Follow written care plans and document services accurately.
