Visiting Angels is seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our team as a Full-Time, Part-Time, or On-call Care assistant. You will provide essential assistance with daily living activities for clients in Bridgeport, Clarksburg, Fairmont, Salem, Philippi, Grafton, Buckhannon, Weston, and surrounding West Virginia communities.

We offer competitive pay at $15 per hour based on experience, fuel reimbursements, shift differential, and a comprehensive training program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding.
• Support clients with medication reminders and administration.
• Accompany clients to doctors’ appointments, errands, and events.
• Assist with light housekeeping and laundry.
• Provide companionship and emotional support for clients.
• Report all client and employee incidents/accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Demonstrate safety precautions and follow HIPAA policies.

As an individual contributor, you will play a key role in enhancing the well-being of our clients in the Bridgeport, Clarksburg, Fairmont, Salem, Philippi, Grafton, Buckhannon, Weston, and surrounding West Virginia communities.

• Conduct safety precautions, including wiping wet floors and spills, and eliminating other potential hazards immediately
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and demeanor
• Practice good time management, problem-solving, and the ability to follow instructions, and complete work assignments
• Demonstrate self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
• Follow Visiting Angels HIPAA policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality at all times

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role preferred but not required
• Must have a compassionate and caring demeanor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, and proof of state-required auto insurance
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
• Complete and pass all caregiver training
• Must be physically able to lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and stand for extended periods of time
