Job summary

Givens Aldersgate, a nonprofit life plan community in Charlotte, NC, seeks a PRN In-Home Aide/Companion to support residents at home for less than 20 hours per week. Shifts include 7a-3p, 3p-11p, or 7p-7a with weekend coverage required.

You’ll work closely with nurses to assist with ADLs/IADLs and provide companionship. Compensation ranges from $15.00 to $16.00 per hour based on experience, with tuition reimbursement and EAP benefits.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience in home care, home health, geriatrics or LTC (Preferred).
• Active CPR certificate or willingness to obtain with six months of joining the team.

Responsibilities

• Offer companionship by joining clients on walks or accompanying them on visits.
• Assist and perform tasks delegated by Campus and Home Care nurses to support clients with their ADLs and IADLs.
• Assist Home Care clients with activities such as shopping, transportation to appointments and daily tasks that do not require extensive "hands on" care.
• Support clients with household management tasks, such as caring for their pets, closet organization, light housekeeping, etc.
• Communicate changes in a resident's condition to the nurse on duty.
• Maintain chart documentation, and utilize applicable software to do so.
• Always practice safety and infection control methods.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy of any PHI per HIPAA requirements.
• Participate in ongoing education and training.
• Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor.
