Job summary

SYNERGY HomeCare is seeking experienced child care professionals to provide in-home backup child care for families across Morris, Somerset, and Sussex Counties in New Jersey. Caregivers support working families when their regular child care arrangements are unavailable.

Assignments vary by family and week, typically 4-10 hours per day, 3-5 days per week, with schedules posted via our automated staffing system. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
• Reliable transportation to travel to client homes.
• Available at least 2-5 weekdays; Monday–Friday availability preferred.
• Availability between 8:00 AM-6:00 PM or 9:00 AM-5:00 PM is strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to participate in our automated staffing system and accept assignments based on availability, location, and qualifications.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Verifiable professional references.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
• Plan age-appropriate activities and play.
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks.
• Encourage healthy habits and assist with hygiene and toilet training.
• Perform light household tasks related to the children, including dishes, children's laundry, and toy cleanup.
• Assist with homework when appropriate.
