Job summary

Koniag Information Security Services LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Improvement Sciences Specialist with a Secret clearance to support KSS and our government customer in San Diego, CA. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years applying improvement methodologies and leading projects.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma, PDSA/PDCA, and Change Management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, problem solving, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent English communication, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support process improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma, PDSA/PDCA, and Change Management.
  • Collect data, perform statistical analysis, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to drive problem-solving.
  • Develop training materials on improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Prepare briefing materials, metrics, reports, and project documentation for leadership.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative staff.
  • Use statistical software and data tools to track gains and sustain outcomes.
  • Support performance measurement frameworks and dashboards.

Job description

Koniag Information Security Services LLC, a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking an Improvement Sciences Specialist with a Secret security clearance to support KSS and our government customer in San Diego, CA. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

Principal responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead and support process improvement projects utilizing recognized improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, PDSA/PDCA, and Change Management frameworks.

  • Conduct comprehensive data collection, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Facilitate improvement workshops, team meetings, and stakeholder engagement sessions to drive collaborative problem-solving and solution development.

  • Develop and deliver training and educational materials related to improvement of science methodologies and tools.

  • Prepare and present briefing materials, metric charts, progress reviews, technical reports, and project documentation to leadership and government stakeholders.

  • Work collaboratively with diverse, cross-functional teams including clinical, operational, and administrative staff.

  • Utilize statistical software and data analysis tools to evaluate baseline performance, track improvements, and demonstrate sustainability of gains.

  • Support the development and implementation of performance measurement frameworks and dashboards.

  • Maintain proficiency in MS Teams, MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Access), Power BI, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Ensure improvement activities align with applicable government, organizational, and contract requirements.

  • Contribute to knowledge management activities by documenting lessons learned, best practices, and improvement outcomes.

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Statistics, or a related scientific field from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience applying improvement methodologies and leading improvement projects, ideally in a relevant industry.

  • Demonstrated strong understanding of improvement methodologies including Lean Six Sigma, PDSA/PDCA, and Change Management.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis using statistical software, problem-solving, and root cause analysis techniques.

  • Exceptional communication skills in English – both written and oral – with the ability to convey complex analytical findings to diverse audiences.

  • Strong facilitation and training skills with demonstrated experience delivering improvement focused workshops and educational sessions.

  • Applied project management skills with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor multiple concurrent improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across clinical, operational, and administrative functions.

  • Proficiency in MS Teams, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Access, Power BI, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Ability to produce high-quality briefing slides, metric charts, progress reviews, technical reports, and organizational charts.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Clearance Requirement:
  • Secret security clearance
Desired Skills and Competencies:
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

  • Experience working in a federal government or military healthcare environment.

  • Familiarity with Navy and Marine Corps operational environments.
