Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain import/export compliance with US and other government requirements.
• Serve as primary liaison to US Customs and other agencies for export inquiries.
• Provide internal and external customer service for import/export questions.
• Ensure import documents are accurate for brokerage to avoid delays.
• Update product database and ensure HTS codes and origins are correct.
• Review and communicate with brokerage partner prior to imports.
• Stay current on US/Canada regulations; pursue ongoing training (CCS/CTCS).
• Oversee monthly wire transfers to brokers and payment auditing.
• Maintain logistics contacts with US agencies for audits.
• Prepare and manage certificates of origin and related compliance docs.
• Manage AES/ITN filings and EEI data for USPPI exports.
• Validate records for Duty Drawback and file with US Customs broker.
• Maintain ECCN classifications and General Licenses master data.
• Screen for OFAC compliance and sanctions; record retention for export.
• Perform desk audits for Import & Exports.

Compensation $65,000 to $71,000 annual base salary based upon required geography, CCS and experience.

Position Summary:

Carestream is hiring an experienced Import Compliance Specialist.Internally, this is called Import Export Specialist.

Location: 1049 W Ridge Road manufacturing and supply chain in Rochester, NY.

Hours: Fixed Hybrid work days of Monday, Wednesday and Thursday onsite.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining Import/Export compliance with US and other Government requirements.
• Primary Liaison to US Customs and other Government agencies for export inquiries.
• Provide internal and external customer service for Import/Export questions and issues.
• Ensure that all import documents provided to US brokerage partner are correct to prevent delays in custom release.
• Update & maintain the product database, as required, for the US brokerage partner to ensure all HTS codes & country or origins are accurate. Review weekly SAP material master.
• Updates and provide information to brokerage partner prior to import of these materials into the US commerce.
• Remain current on updates to all US and Canada regulations. CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) & CTCS (Certified Trade Compliance Specialist) requires ongoing training.
• Will oversee monthly wire transfers to brokers and/or payment auditing.
• Maintain logistics contact with US agencies for auditing of imports and exports.
• Prepare, review and manage all required documents including certificates of origins ensuring compliance with Foreign Trade Regulations and company policies.
• Responsible for AES/ITN filings, including EEI data for USPPI exports.
• Validating and maintaining records for Duty Drawback and process requests to US Customs Broker for filing.
• Responsible for maintaining Master Data of ECCN classifications and General Licenses.
• Visual Compliance screening of internal and external customers through the Denied/Restricted Party List to ensure OFAC Compliance.
• Responsible for the review of Sanctions Screening to Sanctioned or High-Risk Countries/Embargoed Countries.
• Record Retention Lead- Export.
• Perform and complete desk audits- Import & Exports

Traditional Office Environment: This position is primarily an office setting with standard temperature and humidity controls, moderate to light noise, fluorescent lighting, primarily sitting with standing desks available, extensive computer and keyboard use, etc.
