Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced Implementation Engineer 4 (Perimeter) based in the United States to lead enterprise perimeter security implementations. You will configure, deploy, and upgrade Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and TippingPoint IPS platforms, driving lifecycle initiatives across complex environments.

The role requires extensive hands-on firewall experience, strong networking knowledge, and the ability to manage maintenance windows including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 8 years of IT experience working with firewall solutions, including hands-on experience building firewalls from scratch.
• Strong practical experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and TippingPoint IPS platforms.
• Experience managing FortiOS and TippingPoint software upgrades and platform lifecycles.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, multicast, and traffic flows.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across network and security infrastructure.
• Experience supporting production implementations, maintenance activities, and technical incidents.
• Ability to create, maintain, and communicate detailed technical implementation documentation.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical risks, issues, implementation status, and remediation plans clearly.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and TippingPoint IPS platforms in enterprise environments.
• Lead firewall and IDS/IPS lifecycle initiatives, including hardware and software refreshes, migrations, upgrades, replacements, capacity expansions, and decommissions.
• Plan and execute implementation and maintenance activities, including pre-implementation checks, validation, post-installation support, and back-out planning.
• Troubleshoot complex network and security issues involving connectivity, routing, traffic inspection, firewall policies, platform performance, and configurations.
• Develop detailed implementation procedures, deployment guides, technical documentation, and low-level configuration specifications.
• Evaluate complex technical requests and translate approved architecture and designs into successful implementations.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, architecture, and project teams to identify and mitigate technical risks before implementation.
• Support vulnerability remediation initiatives and other activities aimed at reducing operational and security risks.
• Maintain accurate technical records, asset information, inventory, and project closeout documentation.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve service delivery through automation, standardization, and process optimization.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance windows, including nights and weekends when required.

We are seeking an experienced Perimeter Implementation Engineer to join a Network Delivery and Execution team focused on enterprise cybersecurity infrastructure. In this hands‑on technical role, you will lead the implementation and lifecycle management of critical firewall and intrusion prevention systems. You will work extensively with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and TippingPoint IPS platforms, supporting deployments, migrations, upgrades, replacements, and decommissions. Your work will help strengthen perimeter security, maintain network resilience, and minimize disruption across complex enterprise environments. Collaborating with engineering, architecture, operations, and project teams, you will translate technical designs into secure, reliable implementations. Responsibilities
