Job summary

Steamboat Group is seeking an Implementation Consultant to lead client implementations for new products and services, coordinating internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure timely delivery. You will facilitate meetings, understand client needs, configure systems, validate setup, manage risks and document requirements and procedures across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 1 year of insurance tracking, lender-placed insurance or related experience.
  • Basic understanding of databases, data files and MS Windows computing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project activities and track deliverables with clients and internal teams.
  • Understand client needs and services to be provided.
  • Configure and validate system setup for products and master policies.
  • Manage client processing configurations and setup changes.
  • Validate changes made by other consultants.
  • Analyze data and validate items with IS department (data extracts, forms, lender requirements, data conversion).
  • Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Set realistic deadlines and ensure timely delivery.
  • Document user manuals, procedures and project specifications.
  • Update Azure DevOps with work unit status.

About The Role

The Implementation Consultant leads client implementation efforts for new products and services and supports change initiatives for existing clients. This role coordinates project activities, aligns internal teams and client stakeholders, and helps ensure implementations are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines.

What You’ll Do
  • Facilitate effective communication (including meetings) with internal departments and external clients to track deliverables, document progress and drive completion of projects.
  • Fully understand each client's needs and the services to be provided.
  • Fully understand the products and master policies to be implemented and ensure correct and appropriate setup within agreed-upon schedule.
  • Manage client processing configurations in system setup.
  • Validate system setup parameters and changes made by other Consultants.
  • Work with IS department to analyze data and validate work items including data extracts, forms, lender specific requirements, data conversion, etc.
  • Assess project risks and develop recommendations and strategy to mitigate risks.
  • Establish reasonable deadlines for setup changes in conjunction with other stakeholders and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Oversee the completion of documentation: user manuals, departmental procedures, project specifications, etc.
  • Document functional requirements using OSC’s standard templates and procedures to complete work unit requests and update Azure DevOps as necessary.
  • Clearly communicate requirements, status and information with the clients and stakeholders during the completion of work units. Attend internal Client Services, Development or Operations status meetings and other company meetings as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of all new services offered in order to keep the clients up-to-date.
  • Maintain appropriate, professional working relationships with clients and other employees.
  • Provide support during the sales process, including presentations and process overview.
  • Identify and coordinate system/program/process enhancements to best serve the client’s needs.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Implementation Consultant I

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and one year of experience in insurance tracking, lender-placed insurance (LPI), mortgage servicing, or a related financial services environment. A basic understanding of databases, data files and MS Windows computing is needed. This is an entry-level position where work is assigned as needed. A moderate amount of guidance and mentoring are expected in order to develop knowledge and skills. Initiative and critical thinking are key competencies.

Implementation Consultant II

Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least three years of relevant experience in insurance tracking, lender-placed insurance (LPI), mortgage servicing, or GSE compliance. This is an intermediate-level position. A thorough understanding of databases, data files and MS Windows computing is needed. The Implementation Consultant II is capable of managing larger, more complex projects, takes operational responsibility, sets appropriate goals, meets deadlines, and may have supervisory responsibility for entry-level consultants. Additional skill development and guidance from a supervisor may be required in unfamiliar circumstances. Experience with insurance tracking or loan servicing platforms (e.g., MSP, Sagent, Jack Henry, etc.) is strongly preferred.

Implementation Consultant III (Senior Consultant)

Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least eight years of relevant experience in insurance tracking, lender-placed insurance (LPI), mortgage servicing, or GSE compliance environments. The Senior Implementation Consultant manages the implementation process for large and/or complex projects, writes technical user manuals, identifies risks before starting major projects and may take on additional responsibilities for driving an initiative to completion. In-depth knowledge of databases, data files, MS Windows computing, and insurance tracking or loan servicing platforms (e.g., MSP, Sagent, Jack Henry, etc.) is needed. This is an advanced-level position for seasoned professionals who may supervise more than one other consultant.
