Job summary

Frisco ISD is seeking a dedicated Visual Art teacher for 5th grade and middle school Art 1, aligned with the Frisco ISD Visual Art Curriculum. The role focuses on developing students’ intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth through engaging activities and meaningful art experiences.

The candidate will design lessons, assess progress, and collaborate with educators to support diverse learners while integrating technology and community showcase opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Visual Art from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements.
• Extensive content knowledge in visual arts.
• Operational knowledge of 5th and 6th grade visual art programs.
• Effective classroom management and teaching skills.
• Ability to manage budget for the program.
• Knowledge of state policies for visual art.
• Ability to interpret data for program evaluation.
• Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of relevant technology and tools.

Responsibilities

• Programming: Develop annual calendar of student showcases and events.
• Preparing artwork for district, regional, and state events as required.
• Teaching and Learning: Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum.
• Assess student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Present material per TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Use appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain records of student mastery and growth.
• Plan and supervise teacher aides and volunteers as appropriate.
• Use technology to strengthen teaching and learning.
