Meridian Charter Schools in Chicago, IL seeks a High School Social Science/Psychology Teacher for full-time service. You will deliver curriculum aligned with standards, promote rigorous learning, and collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement.

Responsibilities include planning differentiated lessons, maintaining accurate attendance and grade records, engaging families, and contributing to school improvement through teamwork; a valid Professional Education License and endorsements

Qualifications

• Active Professional Education License (PEL) in grades 6-12 or 9-12.
• Endorsements in Social Science, U.S. History, World History or comparable endorsements.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a content area; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Experience in urban high schools preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English; Arabic/English; Urdu/English strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-aligned instruction in Social Science and Psychology/History.
• Create differentiated lesson plans and use curriculum identified by the school.
• Assess student progress with formative and summative assessments.
• Maintain attendance records and gradebooks accurately.
• Engage families and community partners to support student achievement.
