Job summary

Glenwood Community School District is seeking a Substitute Bus Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for students. Starting wage is $53.50 per route and requires a high school diploma, DOT physical, and valid CDL. Candidates must be 18+, pass background checks, and have good communication skills.

Reports to the Director of Operations within the Transportation Department. Position involves following schedules, maintaining bus cleanliness, and adhering to all school and traffic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug & alcohol testing.
• Ability to maintain a commercial driver’s license.
• Knowledge of rural roads and district streets preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Must provide acceptable criminal records and driver’s license checks.

Responsibilities

• Attend to bus operations and schedules.
• Obey traffic laws and mandatory safety regulations.
• Maintain discipline on the bus.
• Report any incidents or disciplinary issues to authorities.
• Inspect bus and fuel/maintain bus cleanliness as needed.
• Transport only authorized students and report accidents.
