Job summary

Health Care Resource Centers is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor for our outpatient clinic in Maine. The role includes assisting patients through medically assisted programs and teaching coping techniques for opioid addiction, with individual and group sessions and progress evaluations.

Qualifications

• Must hold CADC or LADC certification in Maine.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility.
• Establishes and reviews initial treatment plan with each patient.
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Involves families and significant others in recovery when possible.
• Develops and participates in individual/group patient teaching projects.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Bachelor's or Master's in social/health services

CADC or LADC certification
