Job summary

The Lansing School District in Lansing, MI seeks a dedicated special education teacher to serve PreK-12 students across Averill and Post Oak. You will deliver world-class instruction in math, literacy, social studies and science, while collaborating with general education teachers and families.

You will support IEP goals, use data to differentiate instruction, and participate in ongoing professional development to advance inclusive, nurturing classrooms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Experience working with students with special education needs.
• Alignment with the district's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate passion for and expertise in working with students with special education needs.
• Support students in reaching their IEP goals.
• Document progress toward IEP goals and support development of new goals.
• Provide instruction in math, literacy, social studies and science to students on your caseload.
• Differentiate instruction using data and feedback from stakeholders.
• Collaborate with school leaders, colleagues, students and professional development sessions.
• Build relationships with students and parents to create a safe, welcoming learning environment.
• Other duties to support the Lansing School District mission.
