Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Tennessee teaching license with appropriate content endorsement or a valid out-of-state license transferable to Tennessee within 90 days; Practitioner license path available.
• Ability to develop and submit weekly/long-range lesson plans with standards, objectives, and assessments.
• Commitment to the IOTA mission and to serving diverse, underserved student populations.

Responsibilities

• Attend professional meetings, conferences, and teacher training to maintain professional competence.
• Instruct students in assigned content areas using direct instruction and AV materials to engage learning.
• Develop and submit weekly and long-range lesson plans with standards and assessments; review homework.
• Consistently use data to evaluate pupil progress and report to parents.
• Lead or participate in student activities and supervise as needed, including chaperoning.
• Abide by state and federal mandates in reporting abuse and neglect.
• Other duties as assigned.
