Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with personnel, students, and patrons.
• Knowledge of informal and formal assessment procedures and curriculum standards

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superiors.
• Assists administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and maintains classroom order.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides learning towards curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Employs instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
• Takes precautions to protect students and materials.
• Assesses student progress and provides progress reports as required.
• Maintains records as required by law and policy.
• Upholds school rules and participates in staff meetings and committees.
• Provides for availability to students and parents outside instructional time when required.
• Communicates with students and parents about academic and behavioral progress.
