Frederick County Public Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher at Oakdale High School. The position supports secondary special education, with daily hours 7:15AM–2:45PM and an ASAP start.

The teacher will deliver instruction, manage the classroom, and maintain continuity of learning during the regular teacher's absence. Qualifications include an Associate degree or 60 college credits; MSDE professional teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement; and a Bachelor's or Master's

Qualificações

• Associate's degree or 60 college credits required.
• MSDE professional teacher certificate with the appropriate endorsement (preferred).
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree (preferred).
• Knowledge of culturally responsive practices.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsabilidades

• Provide for instructional needs and interests of students with the aid of appropriate and effective daily lesson planning.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and where classroom time is utilized effectively.
• Demonstrate the use of a variety of teaching techniques and resources to implement the curriculum.
• Use evaluation to promote student growth and development.
• Demonstrate fair, firm, and consistent behavior towards students and promote self-discipline.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and positive interpersonal relations with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Follow school policies and procedures to achieve district goals.
• Assist administration and staff in the school's mission with ethical professional conduct.
• Strive to maintain and improve professional competencies.
• Supervise students in various school settings.
• Maintain appropriate records.
