Qualifications

• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
• Previous experience in a school setting is highly valued, though not mandatory
• Solid understanding of speech and language development techniques
• Ability to implement treatment plans under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities—able to connect with students, staff, and families
• Reliable organizational skills to manage documentation and scheduling efficiently
• Flexibility and adaptability in diverse educational environments

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapy to students individually or in small groups, addressing communication disorders as outlined in IEPs or educational goals
• Assist in screening, assessment, and evaluation processes as directed by supervising SLP
• Prepare therapy materials and document student progress
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support students’ communication needs within the classroom setting
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reports
• Follow ethical and regulatory standards in all aspects of student care and documentation
