Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools seeks an Instructional Specialist (Secondary Science) in the Department of Teaching and Learning. You will design instructional programs, assist teachers with lesson planning, and coordinate school and community communications.

You will participate in meetings, help develop annual service plans, contribute to curriculum development and assessments, and use data to inform instruction and intervention strategies. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of five years teaching experience.
• Special Education endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between the school and the assigned program by attending office/department meetings twice per month including professional development.
• Develop, update, and implement annual school service plans with team members and principals.
• Participate in curriculum development, textbook adoption, and development of local assessments.
