Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing for a full-time School Social Worker to provide leave coverage within a Detroit-area school district. You will support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development while ensuring access to education in a safe environment.

Applicants must have a MSW, active Michigan LMSW/LLMSW license, and MDE School Social Worker Approval; prior K-12 experience is preferred. The role offers competitive hourly pay ($47-$53) and comprehensive benefits through Blazer

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Current Michigan licensure as an LMSW or LLMSW
• Michigan Department of Education (MDE) School Social Worker Approval
• Previous experience working with K12 students is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct individual and group counseling services to students with emotional, behavioral, or social challenges
• Conduct social work evaluations and contribute to multidisciplinary team assessments
• Develop and implement intervention strategies to improve attendance, classroom participation, and student engagement
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address barriers to learning
• Assist in crisis intervention, behavior planning, and conflict resolution
