Job summary

Providence Public Schools District seeks an exceptional School Nurse to join Alfred A. Lima Sr. Elementary School in Providence, RI. This one-year SY26-27 position requires an RN with at least 3 years of experience and RI licensing, to oversee student health and safety.

Under supervision, the nurse will administer first aid, support health screenings, and collaborate with district physicians. The role includes counseling, home visits, and crisis-team participation within the school community.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in school nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Current license to practice as a registered nurse.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a registered nurse.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• School Nurse Teacher Certificate (RI) required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Administer first aid care for medical emergencies.
• Assist physicians during health examinations in the school setting.
• Conduct screenings and follow up on health concerns per state requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians and health agencies on student health matters.
• Serve on the school Crisis Team and communicate health information to staff and families.
