Job summary

The Lamplighter School is seeking a School Counselor to promote student success by implementing a comprehensive counseling program for Early Childhood and Lower School students. You will provide support to students and families, collaborate with teachers, and develop individualized learning plans in partnership with school leadership.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field, Texas LPC/LPC-A preferred, and a minimum of two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in clinical or counseling psychology, school counseling, social work or related field is required.
• Current licensure as LPC/LPC-A in Texas preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience in school counseling or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with faculty and/or parents about social-emotional and developmental needs of students.
• Develop and facilitate programs for individual social-emotional needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small group guidance to students in classroom and other settings.
• Collaborate with Assistant Heads and faculty to create individualized learning plans.
• Maintain and review ERB testing results with parents and faculty.
• Administer and implement academic screeners as needed.
• Plan and conduct monthly student progress reports.
• Coordinate tutoring and therapist schedules and supervise a team of learning specialists.
