Job summary

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking a Registered Dietitian to lead dietary planning and oversee nutrition services in a correctional health setting. This role interprets physician orders, directs dietary activities in licensed areas, and ensures safe, therapeutic diets are prepared and served.

You will supervise cooks, dietitians, and inmate-workers, inspect facilities for sanitation and safety, and collaborate with clinical staff to support underserved populations

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Healthcare nutrition experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret physician orders and apply therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and direct dietary activities in licensed areas of a health care facility.
• Interpret and apply standards related to Dietary Services.
• Establish interpretation of physician orders for therapeutic and special diets and review the preparation and service of these diets.
• Select, train, and evaluate Dietary Service staff including cooks, dietitians, and inmate-workers.
• Inspect food facilities for compliance with sanitary, safety, and housekeeping standards.
