Job summary

The Hibbing Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is hiring a Full-Time Staff Physician.

This VA clinic, part of the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, serves Veterans across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin and offers a community-based private practice feel with the backing of a national health system. You will join a collaborative team focused on primary care, preventive medicine, and comprehensive veteran care, with access to telemedicine, on-site

Responsibilities

• Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice
• Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management
• Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary team members
• Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions
• Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services
• Provides education to patients and their families
• Assesses and adjusts the plan of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Exemplifies the ICARE core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence
• Providers may be required to travel to the CBOCs or provide gap coverage as determined by the supervisor
• Provider will be required to be a designated women's provider and complete the mandatory VHA training
• 13 month NTE position will be discussed during the interview process. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases, PTO and holidays
