Buehler YMCA in Palatine, IL is seeking energetic Personal Trainers to design and lead engaging fitness programs for individuals and groups. You will assess member goals, track progress, and maintain safe, effective workouts within YMCA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Personal Training Certification required (NASM, ACSM, ACE, or AFAA) at time of hire.
• Working knowledge of preventative health and fitness programs and philosophy.
• Ability to motivate and lead members.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Ability to work with varying fitness levels and ages.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements safe, effective and enjoyable fitness programs that meet members' needs.
• Plans and instructs individuals, small groups or classes with a personalized approach.
• Contacts members to follow-up on progression of their fitness program.
• Keeps accurate records of members’ progress.
• Discusses and promotes YMCA programs and motivates long-term participation.
• Ensures safe and effective workouts; reports accidents and equipment problems.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings; maintains current certifications.
• Supports the YMCA’s mission and center operations as needed.
