Job summary

Washington County School District seeks a Substitute School Nurse in Abingdon, Virginia to provide nursing services as needed. You will support preventive and acute care, manage chronic health needs, and promote student wellness under the Head School Nurse.

Required: Associate's degree in nursing and Virginia RN license, CPR certification, and background check. Prior school nursing experience is desirable; part-time position with hourly pay range $18.45–$21.97.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Virginia RN license to practice nursing.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience, preferably pediatrics.
• CPR certification; state background check clearance.
• Continuing education credits (CEU) for licensure renewal.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive, acute, emergent and chronic health care for students.
• Promote student wellness and support academic achievement.
• Provide limited health services for employees including emergent care.
• Act as health resource for students, families, and faculty/staff.
