Qualifications

• High School degree and a minimum of 48 semester hours of college-level coursework or an Associate degree.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Follow all rules, policies, and procedures of Granville County Public Schools and applicable regulations.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material.
• Assist teachers by crafting strategies for reinforcing material based on student needs.
• Assist students with digital-age learning in the classroom.
• Monitor behavior and help maintain discipline; document incidents.
• Assist with daily living skills and basic student care as directed.
• Monitor safety and student well-being; encourage self-esteem.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to understand student needs.
• Perform clerical duties; maintain records; grade papers; manage attendance.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and ethical standards.
• Support professional development and special education programs.
• Serve as information resource for substitute teachers.
