Job summary

ASU Preparatory Academy is seeking a certified school counselor to implement a comprehensive guidance program focused on academic, personal, and career development. You will provide guidance lessons, orientation for new students, and individual planning to support graduation and post-secondary goals.

Responsibilities include interpreting test results, coordinating scholarships, and collaborating with teachers and families to foster student growth within an immersive school setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field with official transcripts.
• Arizona Department of Education Counselor Certification is required.
• Active AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
• Equivalent combinations of experience, training and/or education will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Implements school guidance curriculum and conducts developmental guidance lessons in classrooms and large groups.
• Conducts orientation activities for new students and informational sessions for families.
• Provides grade-level transitional activities and assists with course selections for graduation requirements and career plans.
• Assists students in developing post-secondary educational plans and provides scholarship information.
• Interprets standardized test results and integrates guidance into the standard curriculum.
• Maintains records documenting interactions, interventions, and decisions and refers students/parents to community resources as needed.
• Collaborates with teachers, staff and parents regarding students’ developmental needs and attends professional trainings.
