Job summary

Youth Opportunity is seeking a Medical Technician to support medical services at Osceola Youth Center in Evart, Michigan. This role provides direct patient care, assists with medical treatments, administers medications, maintains medical records, and supports healthcare operations in a structured, trauma-informed environment.

Ideal candidates are organized, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively with youth and the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain First Aid, CPR, and crisis-intervention certifications during probation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate with youth respectfully and without patronizing.
• Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document youth medical histories and vital signs.
• Explain medical treatments and procedures clearly.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Administer injections as directed by an authorized provider.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with laboratory testing.
