Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Kent County Correctional Facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This full-time role offers day or night shifts and the opportunity to provide quality care within a correctional setting.

The LPN will perform duties within state scope, monitor patients, administer medications, and collaborate with the medical team to plan patient care.

Qualifications

Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
Possesses an active CPR certification.
Remains knowledgeable about state laws and regulations governing practice.

Responsibilities

Utilizes a systematic approach to meet the health needs of each individual patient.
Implements nursing care within the LPN’s scope of practice and in compliance with laws.
Assists in developing teaching plans on health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.
Cares for wounds with cleaning and dressing/bandaging.
Administers medications to offenders.
Provides care of multiple patients as directed by medical leadership.
Monitors vitals and reports changes to medical staff.
Documents actions in MAR and medical records.
