Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a long-term substitute teacher to cover a regular classroom while the position is anticipated to be vacant for 6 or more months. The role requires applying the regular teacher’s lesson plans, managing a safe classroom, and supporting student learning in a temporary capacity on CMS premises.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Active NC teaching license required.
• Three years teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Provide meaningful instruction to students.
• Review and implement classroom routines, lesson plans, and instructional strategies.
• Participate in grade-level meetings, faculty meetings, student intervention teams and other committees normally assigned to a regular classroom teacher.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly learning environment for all students.
• Communicate clearly to students, families, and school personnel.
• Willingness to substitute in any grade level or course as assigned by the school.
