Job summary

Summit School District in Frisco, Colorado seeks a Long Term Substitute Teacher - Literacy Resource Teacher to support literacy instruction when the regular teacher is unavailable. The start date is 11/6/2017, with duties aligned to the district curriculum and classroom plans.

The ideal candidate will manage student learning, implement planned activities, maintain behavior expectations, and collaborate with staff to ensure a safe, respectful learning environment while using SAM for scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Teach the approved Summit School District curriculum based on lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
• Perform all responsibilities of the regular class room teachers for students in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Implement the regular teacher’s assigned responsibilities, plans and schedule.
• Assess student work when appropriate and time permits.
• Promote and maintain student behavior expectations conducive to learning, and maximizes learning time.
• Prepare a summary report of work completed and the day’s events for the regular teacher.
• Establish and demonstrate positive human relations with students, parents, other staff members, and the community.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and security of all student information.
• Comply with District and School policies and procedures including meeting with assigned students at scheduled location and time.
• Demonstrates the commitment to build and maintain a safe, fair and respectful working and learning environment that honors the cultural diversity of students and staff.
• Utilise the Substitute Absence Management/SAM system to accept/decline/manage his/her work and schedule in the capacity of a substitute teacher.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
