Job summary

The Indian Health Service seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across a variety of clinical settings in California. You will observe, administer medications, monitor responses, and support the holistic care plan with education for patients and families.

Applicants must be licensed practical nurses, able to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, and comply with federal requirements. A sign-on bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the United States (or eligibility to practice).
• Ability to administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Competence in basic life support and urgent/emergent care.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
• Commitment to holistic, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Observe, record, and report changes in patients' condition and contribute to the care plan.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications; monitor effects and document responses.
• Recognize and respond to urgent or emergent situations and initiate basic life support.
• Provide education to patients and families about disease processes and self-care.
• Establish therapeutic relationships that respect privacy and dignity.
