Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Atlanta is seeking a seasoned Landscape Architect to join our Urban Design, Planning & Landscape Architecture studio. You will contribute to the design and delivery of spaces ranging from urban parks to education campuses and mobility corridors.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate project tasks, and mentor staff while collaborating with architects, engineers and planners to deliver high-quality, site-conscious design solutions. Local candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration.
• Experience with MS Office, AutoCAD and Photoshop.
• Able to prepare site plans and understand the principles of grading and drainage.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
• 8+ years of experience as a landscape architect/landscape designer.
• Strong planning and design skills for urban, municipal and institutional-scale projects.
• Experience leading and supporting full project life cycles: site analysis, planning, conceptual development, documentation and observation.

Responsibilities

• Develop site and public realm design through all phases of projects, from master planning to construction observation.
• Create 2D and 3D concept drawings using digital tools and free-hand drawing.
• Participate in zoning/site plan approvals, public engagement, design reviews and programming.
• Provide construction observation, including landscape installation and plant selection.
• Lead landscape architecture projects and coordinate staff and client meetings.
