Job summary

Sumter High School is seeking an Assistant JV Girls Basketball Coach. The candidate must have a minimum of five years of coaching experience and must possess or demonstrate the qualifications to obtain South Carolina educator certification. Reports to the Principal and Athletic Director.

The role involves health and safety oversight for student athletes, adherence to all regulations, and active involvement in community and parent engagement. Salary and work year are set by the district.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Provides leadership in selecting, assigning, and evaluating athletic coaches and staff.
Fosters school-community relations by keeping community informed about the athletic program.
Ensures health and safety of student athletes and that proper safety and first aid procedures are followed.
Promotes positive relationships with parents and student athletes and conducts parent meetings.
Ensures program compliance with school, district, and league rules and applicable laws.
Ensures punctual attendance at coaches' meetings and promotes the program through fundraisers and camps.
