Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to join the inpatient team on a per diem basis at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY. The PT will provide evaluations, therapy interventions, and education within the full scope of practice as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Requires a completed accredited PT program, current NYS Physical Therapy license, CPR Certification, and annual mandatory safety trainings.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of accredited physical therapy program; may be Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate.
• Current NYS Physical Therapy license.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Must complete yearly mandatory safety trainings and e-learning courses.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive chart review to determine PT appropriateness and plan of care.
• Educates patient and family with compassionate communication and documents decisions clearly.
• Identifies contraindications and ensures safe patient handling and environment.
• Progresses and reevaluates interventions, documenting clinical decisions for safe care.
• Assists discharge planning and determines follow-up needs and equipment.
