Job summary

Ascend Public Charter Schools is seeking a High School Assistant Principal of Operations to design and continuously improve operational systems in a complex high school setting. You will partner with the Principal to ensure day-to-day smooth functioning while responding to evolving schedules and needs of students, staff, and families.

The role demands judgment, calm leadership, and the ability to anticipate needs, balancing structure with flexibility in a dynamic high school environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in an educational setting.
• Experience managing multiple systems and leading through ambiguity.
• Experience coordinating large-scale events or compliance processes is a plus.
• Strong PM, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead teams and handle competing priorities with consistency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and refine high school operational systems, including bell and course schedules and rotating staff schedules.
• Own day-to-day workflows to ensure smooth school functioning.
• Coach and develop high school operations staff and set clear expectations.
• Maintain facilities, safety, and regulatory compliance; support testing operations.
• Plan for enrollment shifts and program changes in collaboration with leadership.
• Foster a professional, student-centered environment and engage families.
