The role emphasizes adherence to MSHSAA rules, assisting with conditioning, and maintaining positive relations with students, parents, and staff. Requires a high school diploma and background clearance; immediate start during the athletic season.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Prior coaching experience is desired.
• Criminal fingerprint/background clearance is required.
• Reports to District Athletic Director.

Responsibilities

• Have a working knowledge of MSHSAA rules, event procedures and coaching technique.
• Complete sideline training.
• Support the head coach in conducting the athletic program.
• Maintain appropriate rapport with participant parents.
• During games, maintains self-control and sportsmanlike conduct with players, staff, officials, and opponents.
• Keep the head coach informed of appropriate issues.
• Assist in planning and implementing both in-season and out-of-season conditioning and weight programs.
• Work cooperatively with District staff.
• Attend all required meetings and events.
• Conduct practice drills and manage equipment; determine eligibility with the head coach.
