Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with six months related experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate clearly and grammatically.
• Concern for welfare and education of children; ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Patience, dependability, and ability to follow directions.
• Teacher Assistant II requires 48 hours of college credit.

Responsibilities

• Assist in skills practice and reinforcement activities, individually or in small groups.
• Help students develop skills using flashcards, games, worksheets, and instructional aids.
• Assist with lunch, attendance, and classroom operation records.
• Maintain complete and accurate student records.
• Supervise and escort students to buses, study halls, lunch, and other areas.
• Reinstruct or reinforce learning skills to complete assignments.
• Maintain a safe, orderly learning environment.
• Prepare and maintain bulletin boards and instructional materials.
• Perform clerical duties including photocopying and laminating.
• Provide input to teacher for daily and long-range planning.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
