Friendship Richfield Health Center in Salem, VA is seeking a Full Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. The OTA will administer an occupational therapy program under the supervision of a licensed OT and support resident care in a long-term care setting.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy and a valid OTA license. Candidates with experience in rehabilitation facilities are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license is required.
• Experience in a long-term care/rehabilitation facility is preferred.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching; may lift/move objects and patients over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Execute goal-oriented treatment plans and programs in coordination with other departments.
• Adhere to departmental, organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Assess treatment plan progressions to identify deficiencies and make adjustments.
• Participate in program development, quality assurance and improvement efforts.
• Supervise and collaborate with rehab aides/techs, students and others as assigned.
• Identify areas of opportunity to improve quality of care for residents and/or improve operations.
• Comply with all local, state, federal, and facility policies and procedures.
