Job summary

New York Life is seeking an experienced financial advisor to help clients meet their financial goals with personalized planning and exceptional service. You will build long-term client relationships, tailor financial plans, and leverage your knowledge of life insurance, mutual funds, and retirement products to drive growth in a compliance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Aid clients in implementing financial recommendations such as savings plans, life insurance, mutual funds, and other financial products
Identify, seek, and establish prospects continuously and create strong relationships with new clients as their trusted advisor
Customize financial plans for each client based on potential life changes and changing financial needs
Execute exceptional customer service to existing clients; track and monitor communications in the client file, including strategies and financial advice given
Gather each client’s financial information to determine financial status, cash flow, financial goals, and financial expectations
Background in sales, business development, leadership, or other performance-driven roles; professional experience preferred
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and earn trust
Self-motivated and competitive with a business mindset, capable of managing time, priorities, and client relationships independently
Demonstrated desire to grow professionally, take on increased responsibility, and pursue leadership and advancement opportunities
Relevant knowledge of the financial industry, financial products, best practices, and tax regulations is vital
Experience with computer programs, such as MS Office, Google Suite, CRM systems, and financial planning software is essential
Previous success in financial services as a financial planner, personal financial advisor, financial analyst, or financial consultant is needed
CPA license, or CFP (Certified Financial Planner license from Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards) and FINRA Series 7 and 66, are required
Superior customer service skills, math skills, relationship skills, and communication skills are preferred
